How the app supports you

The science, honestly

What we know and what we don't

Other apps announce “autophagy starts!” at an exact hour. That does not exist. In Forkclock every fasting stage tells you how much evidence backs it.

Digesting0–4 h
Solid evidence

You are absorbing your last meal. Glucose and insulin rise and then fall.

Settling in4–12 h
Solid evidence

Insulin drops and your liver starts using its stored glucose.

Switching fuel12–18 h
Moderate evidence

Fat use rises and ketone bodies start to appear. It varies a lot between people.

Mild ketosis18–24 h
Moderate evidence

Ketones keep rising. How much depends on what you ate and how active you were.

Long fast24–48 h
Moderate evidence

Liver glucose stores are low. Hunger usually comes in waves.

Extended fast48 h +
Limited evidence

There is little human evidence. Beyond 48 h, only with a doctor.

And what science actually says: fasting works about as well as eating less every day. Its advantage is that many people find it easier to keep up. We tell you exactly that, with sources.

Questions

Is it on Google Play and the App Store?

Very soon: Google Play first, then the App Store. Meanwhile you can use the web version, which works offline and installs from your browser.

Does it remind me on my computer?

Yes, with the Windows app (coming soon to the Microsoft Store). It starts hidden with your computer and tells you when your fast ends, when to drink water or about your habits, even if your phone isn't at hand. Whatever you log on your phone syncs over and the reminders adjust.

Do I need an account?

No. You start without an account and your data stays on your device. The account is free and keeps your data in sync on your phone, computer and the web, stores copies in the cloud and enables AI photos. Sign in with Google, Apple or a code sent to your email.

How much does it cost?

Logging everything, syncing, charts, scanning, the Kitchen and the articles are free and ad-free, and will stay that way. Plus is optional: USD 2.99 a month or USD 19.99 a year (reference prices; each store adjusts them for your country). It adds AI meal photos, up to 6 a day (3 to try without Plus), unlimited PDF reports for your doctor (without Plus, one every 6 months when you have enough data), the Elegant style, advanced programs, a video of your progress and an encrypted copy of your photos. Payments arrive with the app in the stores.

Where is my data stored?

On your device. If you create an account, also on our server, encrypted in transit, to sync it; only you can see it. You can export it to a spreadsheet and delete it whenever you want, account included.

Which languages is it in?

In 7: English, Spanish (Latin American, European and River Plate), Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Arabic. Foods and units adapt to your country.

Does it help if I take semaglutide or tirzepatide?

Yes: you log each dose and injection site, your symptoms, protein and strength training. The app never suggests doses and does not replace your doctor; with a GLP-1 it does not suggest fasts longer than 12 hours.

Is it for everyone?

Fasting is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, under 18, with a history of eating disorders, or with treated diabetes without medical supervision. The app asks before you start, and you must be 18 or older to use it.
